What's The Difference Between Real Mink, Silk, Human hair and Faux Mink Lashes?

With lashes, there are different types, styles, textures, volumes, and patterns, so it is important to know what you are getting. There are four main types of false lashes that you can choose from real mink, faux mink, silk, and human hair lashes.

So what are their differences?

Real Mink Lashes

Real mink lashes are made from mink fur and are generally the most expensive kind of lashes. Since these lashes are made out of real mink hair and are handmade, they give off the most natural look. They are also very lightweight and are incredibly soft, so they will not irritate your eyes. In terms of appearance, they can range from a very natural look to a more dramatic look, depending on how many are used, dimensions and how many layers are stacked. In length they vary from super short and natural to long and dramatic. Mink eyelashes last between over 20 wears on average with proper care and won't irritate your eyes or become uncomfortable.

Silk Lashes

Silk false eyelashes are considered a premium type of eyelash and are made with synthetic silk fibres. Silk lashes have a different look in terms of the way they are arranged on the band. They are often shorter compared to other kinds of lashes.

The silk fibres make the eyelashes extremely soft and comfortable on the eyes. These fibres are designed to be thin and smooth, allowing for the band of the eyelash to be comfortable and adjustable to any eye shape. In general, silk lashes are designed in a 3D style, which results in very wispy and fluttery lashes.

The silk lashes adhere to the glue well and have little to no shedding. They are more expensive than synthetic lashes, but still super affordable. Additionally, with proper care, these eyelashes should last between 20 and 25 applications without irritating or causing discomfort.

Faux Mink Lashes

Faux mink lashes lashes are made out of synthetic and natural fibres. Faux mink eyelashes are made to mimic real mink lashes but cannot look as natural as real mink lashes. Each faux mink lash hair is very fine and thin in nature. Because of their lightweight, they are great for volume lashes where several different lash hairs are required to make the lashes look full and dramatic

Human hair lashes

Human hair lashes are made of fine fibre which means they create an ultra look once applied. As the hair is cut to size, each strand has a blunt cut rather than tapering to a fine point. Human hair lashes often have a very thin, clear lash band which creates a seamless look once applied.

Human hair lashes are great for natural, everyday looks!

In terms of volume and dimensions, human hair lashes are hardly full and are only 2D.

Although this fibre may not hold its shape as well as other styles, and lasts about 1-5 applications.
